PIPELINE INDUSTRY REVS UP SALES AT MAGNATECH LP

underway and scheduled around the world, which is creating a
worldwide shortage of pipe and qualified welders. As more
and more contractors see the productivity and quality
benefits of mechanizing, this sector has made a positive
impact on Magnatech's business.
Magnatech Europe made the
largest sale to a single customer, with 28 systems purchased
by an Egyptian pipeline contractor, Petrojet.
MAGNATECH INTRODUCES THE MODEL 516
The Model 516 follows the successful
Model 515 power source
for higher amperage applications. While the Model 515 has an
internal 200-amp power module, the 516 is designed to use
external, commercially-available power supplies of any
amperage from 200 to 500 Amps. The Model 516 is redesigned
T-Head are "all digital", for enhanced accuracy. The system
is primarily designed for GTAW welding larger diameter and
heavy wall pipes. The first customer purchased four systems
for welding the root and hot pass of sour gas pipelines.
These pipelines are internally clad with CRA. The first
several passes must be made with TIG process and Inconel™
filler wire to ensure there is no dilution of the
corrosion-resistant material in the root bead.
NEW DIGITAL T-HEAD
The T-Head has been upgraded with encoder motors to allow it
to be used with the new Model 516 Controller. Speed
regulation and general welding operation is significantly
improved over the earlier model. Systems have already been
delivered to several customers. A new brochure will be
available in the near future. |
