he MPS4000 is a microprocessor-based portable inverter power source for GMAW/FCAW process welding applications.  The weld Head controller integrated with the power source operates all Pipeliner II weld Head models.  Ideal for pipeline welding.

The MPS4000 provides synergic control of electrode speed and power output - the welder has only to change electrode speed and the power supply output parameters to maintain a stable process.  Factory developed programs are stored for many combinations of alloy, electrode diameter, and shielding gas.  The MPS4000 wire feeder is used the the Push-Pull (WFPP) version of the weld head.  The Wire Feed on Head (WFOH) model is ideal for applications where it is not possible to locate the power source adjacent to the weld.  The Head mounted wire feeder uses standard 5kg (10lbs.) spools, allowing the Head to operate at distances of 30m (100') or greater from the power source.  This permits welding of large diameter vessels and pipe work in overhead racks.

THE MPS4000 - AN "EXPERT" TOOL
The MPS4000 comes with welding expertise already built-in.  Power Source controls stand out for their simplicity and ease of operation.  Just set the wire diameter and type of material to access the factory preprogrammed optimized parameters that are stored in memory.  The single-knob operation in synergic mode makes this job even easier.  Power output is precisely synchronized with wire speed and is adjustable through its full range with the turn of a single knob.

PUSH-PULL WIRE FEED OPTION
The Pipeliner WFPP Model uses a conventional floor-mounted "push" wire feeder in combination with a Head-mounted "pull" feeder.  This Push-Pull model provides positive feeding with torch cable lengths up to 8m (25'), while using economical 15kg (25-33lbs) size spools.  Extension cables between the floor-mount wire feeder and the power source allow even greater working distances at job sites.

PRECISE ARC LENGTH REGULATION - AUTOMATICALLY
The arc length control works with microsecond response and digital precision to keep the arc length constant as the torch moves.  Even with substantial changes in stick out, the process is regulated to minimize spatter.

SAFETY AND RUGGED DURABILITY
The design and construction of the MPS4000 make it ideal for field use.  It has shown exceptional reliability: whether operating in the heat and blowing sand at a Saharan oil production facility; the humid, salt-laden air of an offshore platform; or laying gas pipeline across rugged terrain.  It is rated IP23 - suitable and safe for field use without special protection.
